| Description of Idea |
| My research on EUROSIGNS analyses the individual meanings and the overall impact of European Union (EU) related representations. Both the official and private use of eurosigns tap into the resources of the EU as a superbrand but the unofficial narratives are neither as carefully branded nor as effectively disseminated as official PR-material for the EU.
I use photographs by a multinational group of ”eurosignspotters” to dissect the concept of Europe. Anyone is wellcome to join! The online material – including scientific articles – can and will be freely used for interdisciplinary teaching and lecturing purposes.
For the sake of comparision, also signboards of Europe are collected.
The wide variety of eurosigns raises questions about mediated space and supranational image making. The phenomenon of private eurosigns addresses – in its own way – to the question: what is Europeanness today?

NOTE (not part of description of the idea):
I had unfortunately little difficulties in understanding your entry categories/accepted formats.
I would define this work under ” Beyond”, but if could also be define under ”communication studies” or ”sociology”. So maybe you can make the choice - or leave it to \"beyond\" as I have now marked it?
