visual communication practice
Description of idea
Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the
festival outlines:
The idea communicated here is about the most repressing and smothering aspect of being in debt. It also describes what it feels like, emotionally, and what it can eventually lead to.
What kind of communication approach do you use?
I have used typography to communicate visually the effect of being smothered or suffocated by the overwhelming feeling of being in debt. I have also modified a phrase that is commonly used in the English language to make a strong negative suggestion about the nature of debt.
What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of
your communication?
To the society, it could be either a reality check for those who can directly relate to the situation of being overburdened by debt, or it could be a warning to most people who are not so heavily affected by it yet.
What did you personally learn from creating your submitted
work?
After all the research, and a number of iterations of my work, I learned that the awareness around us for the negative impact of debt are not effective enough.
Why is your work, GOOD communication
WORK?
My work forces the viewer to react to the red color in the type that draws his/her attention to the fact that the matter of debt is not a light one. Moreover, the subtext adds more meaning to this message.
Where and how do you intent do implement your
work?
As a banner or an awareness poster my work would most likely be implemented in a highly commercial street in a busy city.
Did your intervention had an effect on other Media. If yes, describe
the effect? (Has other media reported on it- how? Were you able to change
other media with your work-
how?)
no.
