La Comune di MIlano
1/1

La comune di Milano is a campaign against the political madness of the municipality of Milano (Italy). Since is a campaign against an insitution, we used the user name of the campaign, instead our identity. Usually we make signs like the one the municipalyty makes, we put them oj official sites, with a disturbimg message: the municipality excuse itself for insane political action like squatting rom people, or cutting public schools founds, or putting curfew in neighborhoods where immigration is high.

I saw the posters on the streets and I've got to say that I love this project. It works extremely well on the crucial problems of the city. It would be great to have here also some pictures of the posters on the streets. Do yuo have it?

How does project benefit the client (if there is a client)?
Clients are Milano citiziens. La Comune is a political project trying to sensibiize people to the policy of the municipality of Milano

How does project benefit the people you are speaking to with your communication?
Giving them an ironic message which let them rthink about an aspect of the policy of Comune di Milano-

How does project benefit the wider society?
See above

How did/does this project benefit author (authors/makers of the project)?
As activists we are happy to do something for our town.

Tell us something about your view on communication. What is your / your organisation's / initiative's (visual) communication philosophy?
We made a logo similar to the official one. We create signs similar to the official ones put by municipality on the streets. We would like to subvertise and distract official communication. And in this way push people to think.

What about the process of creating this work? Please describe it.
We started with a sign in via Padova, an neighborhood where there are a lot of immigrates and where, due to a murder, Comune di Milano introduced a curfew. We made also some videos. The last one is a remake of the famous Amici miei (Monicelli, 1975, with Togranzzi). We put the audio of an episode on new images, about a project of gentrification in Milano. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVHKoOCpgGE
