visual communication practice
Description of idea
Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the
festival outlines:
My communication aims to educate people on the topic of introversion to help combat the plethora of misinformation and misunderstandings that plague society surrounding this subject. One of the leading causes of the dialogue failing is ignorance and lack of knowledge; introversion is a personality type that makes up 1/3 of the population while also being highly misunderstood, as such, addressing this would definitely help mend one aspect of why dialogue fails.
The design as a whole include: a bookmark, badges, box and a booklet of sorts. These come together to form a ‘pack’ that aims to educate extraverts on a few aspects of introversion, while encouraging them to not try to change introverts: but instead celebrating them.
The ‘packs’ would be given out at universities, high schools and health institutions. The aim being that introverts would pass these packs onto loved ones, or for people who are extraverted to find and look at themselves.
Further ‘advertisement’ of packs would be delivered online in blogs, where pictures would be taken of them along with written text talking about the campaign.
What kind of communication approach do you use?

What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of
your communication?
with introverts making up 1/3 of the population, it would be a great benefit to society if the other 2/3 are made to understand how introverts function/think. This in turn could help parents understand their children, bring friends closer and generally prevent misunderstandings from happen such as: one party thinking that the other does not like them because they said they needed some alone time, when in actual fact they really are just needing that time to themselves to recharge.
What did you personally learn from creating your submitted
work?
I learned quite a bit more about both extraversion and introversion, such as it being more of a gradient rather than being black and white. People can show traits of both, but typically will lean more one way than the other.
Why is your work, GOOD communication
WORK?
The colour scheme utilises the complimentary colours of orange and blue, which is both aesthetically pleasing and carries symbolism.
The orange, which is a positive colour, is used within the shapes to represent how introverts are more focused on things within themselves. The blue, which is more of a negative colour, is used on the outside. Coldness (blue) absorbs heat (orange), just as social situations absorbs energy from an introvert.
Where and how do you intent do implement your
work?
The ‘packs’ would be given out at universities, high schools and health institutions. They would also supplement lectures given on introversion. The aim being that introverts would pass these packs onto loved ones, or for people who are extraverted to find and look at themselves.
Further ‘advertisement’ of packs would be delivered online in blogs, where pictures would be taken of them along with written text talking about the campaign.
Did your intervention had an effect on other Media. If yes, describe
the effect? (Has other media reported on it- how? Were you able to change

how?)
