Awards- GOOD COMMUNICATION WORK recognition
Dear all, second part of our award: Memefest GOOD COMMUNICATION WORK recognition will be awarded to all who's submissions were curated and edited.
We will start the design process of the artifact next week. Once finished, we will print it and send it via snail mail in a surprise package to all of you. Those who will come to the workshop will get it there.
It will take cca two - three weeks. Than we will send the good work to you.
Final selection for Memefest workshop
We will start with internal selection for 20 participants next week. The process will be public as much as possible. We are in the process of discussing criteria for this selection.
The "problem" is a) more than 20 participants are curated/edited.
b) as written in the awards page- EU funding is for EU citizens only. We know - thats stupid, but thats how it is and we can't do anything about it.
This means, that we will have to find resources for people outside of EU. Definitely we will invite participants from outside EU.
Final list of invited participants will be published April 15th.
So... please follow our blog/news posts.
MEMEFEST EXHIBITION in Ljubljana
We are proudly announcing the opening of the exhibition MEMEFEST: DEMONSTRATING RELEVANCE: RESPONSE-ABLITIY in the Center of Urban culture KINO ŠIŠKA (Ljubljana, Slovenia) on 28th of March at 20h!
The exhibition MEMEFEST: DEMONSTRATING RELEVANCE: RESPONSE-ABLITIY is a selection of static, interactive and visual communication works, which were curated as part of Memefest competitions between 2002 and 2010. Presented communication works are not contemplative, but responsive and critical. Every single work was created in response to specific problems - as identified by the festival, which draw on current global and local realities of everyday life. The communication works fall on the left side of the today's confusing capitalist spectacle dichotomy: the critical / affirmative visual communication production. Their aim is clear, as they are trying to liberate the trapped views from the spectacle apparatus and open up new horizons of thinking and acting.
Added also Critical writing results!
As you probably noticed Critical Writing comments from our curators were unfortunately not on-line yet.
Now we got them! You can check the results here.
Results are ONline!
we are happy to announce that curators have finished evaluating your submissions. The results, as you will see, are just fantastic! Check out Memefest 2010/11 Friendly competition results here!
