The New Soma

Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the festival outlines:

The drug, Soma, from the novel Brave New World by Adolus Huxley examines pleasure in an artificial form. My concept was to take that idea and apply it to current culture through technology.

What kind of communication approach do you use?

I used a visual communication approach to create a visual metaphor of the two ideas.

What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of your communication?

In my opinion my communication creates a immediate and clear representation. By looking at my work society will take a step back from their infatuation with technology and consider the validity of the "experiences" they have through technology.

What did you personally learn from creating your submitted work?

I learned that communication is best when the image or idea is simple.

Why is your work, GOOD communication WORK?

My work is good communication work because it has a clear undisputed message that can be understood even without prior knowledge of the drug soma from Brave New World.

Where and how do you intent do implement your work?

I plan to implement this work in my portfolio.
