I sat with a group of children and first asked them if they knew what debt was and as accepted they did not. Then i explained to them the meaning of debt in simple terms and gave them examples of debt. After which i provided them with sketch books and coloring pencils/markers/crayons and ask them to draw what they understood. Which then i used their images to make my poster.

Description of idea

Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the festival outlines:

As the festivals main subject is debt, i decided to look at the view point of a group that is affected by debt yet many of the members of that group do not even know the meaning of the word. I chose to work with Children ages 5 -10 in order to see their view point of debt after the word (concept) was explained to them in simple terms.

What kind of communication approach do you use?

The communication approach i decided to use was a poster. I see that posters are a medium in which they can be see and use frequently and a poster is a great why to communicate an idea or message.

What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of your communication?

What i am communicating to society is that not only are countries economies suffering due to debt but as it is know families are suffering as well. However people tend to only think about the parents who are the ones generating the debt, whereas their children suffer as well, both now and in the future. When in fact the whole family is especially the innocent children that are not even aware of this epidemic of debt. So i am hoping that my poster will benefit society by opening their eyes to the fact that the children which we tend to neglect in the matter of debt are the ones that will be affected the most in the end.

What did you personally learn from creating your submitted work?

What i learned from my work is that children's messages and vices are often not heard in our loud world and that they have interesting and at time as innocent as they may be they have useful ideas and thoughts that need to be heard. This is why i decided to give them a voice with my poster.

Why is your work, GOOD communication WORK?

The reason why i consider my work to be good communication is because it is not over crowded the message of the work is able to be understood by the audience the the help of visual add and the presence of text.

Where and how do you intent do implement your work?

I would like to place my poster in public advertising avenues where the masses would be able to see and get my message.

Did your intervention had an effect on other Media. If yes, describe the effect? (Has other media reported on it- how? Were you able to change other media with your work- how?)

No
