Description of idea

Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the festival outlines:

Debt is a global problem that a lot of people face on a daily basis. It doesn’t only change a person’s thinking on where and what to spend money on. It can be so destructive that it can get a person on the streets. Debt is one of the main reasons that poverty is increasing worldwide. A key element in the society than can make all of this better, in my opinion, is the level of income. Logically, if people have a higher income level then they will be able to afford their wants and needs and of coarse, pay off their debts. This, however, must be taken into consideration by the higher power in the economy, which is the government. The government is usually responsive when there is a common problem between the people in the society. Nevertheless, it is not that kind. The people must fight, they must protest, they must demand for a higher level of income so this problem of debt would at least decrease. One voice can make a difference. My poster here represents the voice of the people worldwide. Debt is a four-letter word. Take away one letter, look it up in the dictionary and it becomes non-existent, absolutely meaningless. I decided to give the poster the title “B heard” since the letter “B”, the missing letter in the poster, is the one that gives meaning to the whole word. I used it as a pun to show the flow of importance of how one letter can have an impact on something bigger than itself. The same thing goes for the people. One voice, a unified voice, can and will make a difference in the whole world.

What kind of communication approach do you use?

It actually took me a long time to finally decide what I want to do , it was chaotic. I went from videos to pictures and photographs to finally a poster with text. I felt like it was the most straight-forward type of media, it's short, it's catchy and it will definitely stick to the person's brain and get him/her thinking.

What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of your communication?

My work basically calls out for action. Debt is a global problem. It doesn't only stick to one individual or one country and my poster asks for the help of the people to demand higher income so this problem of people worldwide being in debt would at least decrease. It raises awareness about the issue and gets the people to do something about it so they would have a better and happier life. A life that is free of worries.

What did you personally learn from creating your submitted work?

After trying all types of media in the hunt of wanting express my work best. I learned that sometimes with a powerful thought or idea, simplicity is the best way to do it.That is why I simply chose a poster with text.

Why is your work, GOOD communication WORK?

I do believe that a successful communication technique is one that succeeds in sending their message out to the public. A way of communication that a person would instantly grab a person's attention and get them thinking , not about what it means but about how it affects their lives and if they are ready to do something about it. My work is simple , straight-forward and it definitely conveys the message of wanting the people to act and have a voice.

Where and how do you intent do implement your work?

Everywhere, literally, i want it on the streets, in schools, in offices, on TV, on buildings and even on those huge promotional posters on bridges. I want my work to be everywhere because the problem of debt is a problem that everyone faces whether they're young or old.

Did your intervention had an effect on other Media. If yes, describe the effect? (Has other media reported on it- how? Were you able to change other media with your work- how?)

No
